Postby darkXside » Sun Jun 17, 2018 8:31 pm

i see there is a ping/pong for when the client is registering on irc, but to stay alive, the server sends a PING :servername (you can see it with plain telnet connection). as i use undernet that is how it works.. any solution so its gonna PONG :server ?

Hi, I don't understand the question.
Can you restate it?

on undernet we need to send a pong to the server to stay-alive. i tried the same as the "PING " but with PONG but after a while i still ping timeout, and it also don't reconnect auto when it timeouts.

I would use a network sniffer to see what a regular client of undernet does.
Then you can mimic that same thing with your client.

The return PONG might just need to be in a particular format or syntax that you are not using.

Dude, it may not be suitable for your requirements, but don't call it crap. I've been using it for a long time without any problem.
